In the summer of 1993, we had the
idea to package our family fry bread recipe that my great-grandmother
handed down to my mother. I remember that summer very well, as
my mother and I would hand sew and rubber stamp every muslin bag. We would then dry the bags
overnight and begin production the following day. This process
went on throughout the summer until we had enough sales to justify
purchasing the muslin bags in bulk from a bag company. Wow, what
a summer!
Today, we have
made the decision to carry on our family's traditional, Native
American fry bread recipe as Little Chief Fry Bread Mix. Through
the years, our family has prepared Little Chief Fry Bread in a
variety of ways, and we would like to share our suggested
uses and recipes with you. We encourage you to be adventurous,
trying Little Chief Fry Bread Mix in new and different ways. Please
share any new ideas with us here on LCFrybread.com
. ENJOY!
Thank you,
Lisa Little Chief
